 Kazan Federal University’s impressive main building played host to the annual sociology conference that focuses on research on Turkic-language speaking countries and communities such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan. Thanks to Albina Garifzyanova for inviting us!
 The meeting place cannot be changed – in this case under a statue of a young Vladimir Lenin who (very briefly) studied law in Kazan.
